Today, the counseling staff shared temporary tattoos and stickers with motivational messages, invited students to take their photos at the MMHS Insta-spot, and there was a Swag Bag Raffle during all the lunches, and several students at each lunch won a bag with lots of cool mental health swag!

Get Ready for the GREAT MARDELA TEACHER… Nope, NOT a Duck Hunt… It’s the FROG HOP 2025!! That’s right — FROG HOP is coming your way for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9)! ________________________________________ What's Happening: • All the ducks have flown the coop… but the FROGS are hopping in! • Frogs will be hidden around the school for teachers and staff to find. • Students may help teachers/staff catch the frogs! • Each teacher/staff member may collect up to 5 frogs per day. • Keep the frogs you find — each one is numbered for the prize drawings. • If you’re given a frog and already have 5 for the day: o Pass it to another teacher/staff o OR re-hide it in the building ________________________________________ Prize Entries: • Submit your frog numbers by 2:00 PM each day using the Google Form. • Daily random prize drawings will take place! • Grand prizes will be awarded at the end of the week for: o Staff who submit pictures with their frogs (along with their student helpers)! • Send photos to Mrs. Raygor by email or text — feel free to send photos each day. ________________________________________ Bonus Game Features: • ROYAL FROGS = Bonus Prizes! • TOADSTOOLS = Beware! o If you receive a toadstool:  You must release any frogs you found that day.  Give them to the person who gave you the toadstool.  Keep the toadstool in your "bog" — you can’t reuse it.  But it might protect you from others (they won’t know if it’s active or not!). ________________________________________ Important Reminders: • Keep all frogs until the end of the week — entries roll over and are cumulative! • Frogs are shy — no frog-hunting mobs! o They’ll only appear during:  Breakfast  Flex  Lunch • No class disruptions or hallway hunts! o Violators may find an unwelcome toadstool in their doorway! ________________________________________ Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Ready, & above all Be Kind! Let’s have fun and follow the rules so we can enjoy more activities like this in the future! ________________________________________ Sponsored By: • Kindness Club • School Counseling Team • Social Committee With special thanks to our amazing teachers for everything you do every day!

🔧 Explore the Trades Event! 🔌❄️ Mardela Families, don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn about high-demand careers in the skilled trades — Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC! 📅 Date: May 6 🕔 Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM 📍 Location: Seaside Plumbing Training Room 11935 Worcester Hwy, Bishopville, MD 🎉 Enjoy prizes, giveaways, and food while connecting with local professionals from: 🔹 Seaside Plumbing 🔹 Arctic Heating & Air 🔹 Expert Wire The whole family is welcome! Come explore hands-on career paths that keep our communities running. 👨‍🔧👩‍🔧 #ExploreTheTrades #SkilledTrades #CareerOpportunities #MardelaWarriors #Plumbing #HVAC #ElectricalCareers This event is all about inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trades. We’ll have free food, games, prizes, and most importantly—a hands-on opportunity to explore rewarding career paths in the skilled trades. Who should attend? Everyone is welcome! • Graduating seniors • Students of all ages • Parents and caregivers • Adults exploring new career options • Anyone curious about the skilled trades What to expect: Explore the Trades Night is designed to demystify the trades and break outdated stereotypes. You’ll meet real technicians and apprentices, get guided van tours across all three trades, and check out our plumbing skills lab. It’s an engaging, family-friendly night filled with inspiration and discovery. Why this matters: For every three tradespeople retiring, only one is stepping in to fill their shoes. We’re facing a critical skilled labor shortage, and it’s up to all of us to spark interest, shift perceptions, and educate our youth—and their families—on the real value of these essential careers. Clean water, safe homes, electricity, and comfort—it all depends on the trades.

The Wicomico County CTE Interactive Media Art Exhibit is Thursday, May 1 from 5-7 p.m. in the media wing and media center of Wicomico High School. Does the idea of drinking ginger ale from a champagne flute, snacking on finger foods, mingling with family and friends, admiring art on the walls, having deep, thoughtful discussions about the intended meaning of a work of art or photograph, and listening to jazzy music sound like a fun and stimulating way to spend an evening? We hope your answer is yes. You don't have to be an artist to appreciate art from the CTE Interactive Media Program! Come have fun with our interactive media and photography students as we all reflect on the year and admire the great work they have created. The public is invited so feel free to bring your friends and family. At this year's exhibit you'll see Interactive Media's newest work, visit their classroom, check out the incredible state of the art equipment students use including iMacs and Wacom tablets, talk to current students, watch students demonstrate the technology they use every day, and see the cool merchandise students design and print including t-shirts, tumblers, mugs, buttons, and stickers . We are excited to announce that this year you will also see incredible photography by Mrs. Messler's photography students. There will be a lot to see at this year's exhibit so please don't miss it!
